Default m-box 2 or 002 ??

I'm an experienced PT user with an HD2 studio.

I'm about to buy either an m-box 2 or an 002 so I can work at home.

Give me some real-world advice on performance differences between the m-box 2 and 002. Anything I should be aware of before buying?

I'm aware of the features (inputs, etc) of each box.

Low latency monitoring (software-based) is supported on the 002(R) only. On the MBox, it's only a not so convenient hardware function: the mix knob.

I think all other differences should be obvious from the product descriptions.

I've worked with both and I think it really comes down to this; do you think you will ever need to record more than 4 channels of audio simultaneously? No = MBox 2; Yes = 002

The 002 just offers more flexibility in I/O and monitors as well as sample rate. If that extra $600-700 isn't going to break the bank, it might be worth it. I mean, c'mon... you get 4 of those gorgeous sounding Focusrite pres. lol In all seriousness though, there's not that much difference outside of what you see posted in the specs.

Soundquality!! The DIGI002r sounds way better than the M-box (haven't heard the m-box 2 though, so I hope it sounds better).

I didn't believe my own ears so I had to doublecheck with some other guys, but there's a major differense in the low/low-middle area..Why don't you just check your nearest dealer and hear for yourself?
