Upgrade to Digi002 -- work with current software?

I currently have an MBox and looking to upgrade to Digi002. I have someone who is looking to unload their Digi002 so they can upgrade as well.
My question is this: is the Digi002 just plug and play with my current 6.7LE software that I am using with MBox? Do i need to re-register anything? Do i need to reinstall anything? Or can i just unplug MBox, plug in the Digi002 and go to work?

Finally, when i look at online pics of Digi002, it shows only 4 XLR Mic Inputs ... I thought this could record 8 tracks simultaneously? Is that the case? If so, how? I want to ensure I can record 8 tracks of drums at once if needed.

I hope I can answer your questions

Once your computer installed Pro Tools LE, you can use it with MBox, MBox2, Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack.

You don't need to register anything, just need to plug your 002 and you will get what you want.

002 only comes with x4 Mic preamp and the other x4 preamp is only TRS in. You might consider a Mic. Preamp that have ADAT out and then using the ADAT to connect your 002.

For 4 channel mic. preamp. i am sorry i am not quite familiar about the mic. preamp.
