Default 003 and Pro Tools Aggregate I/O

As PT 11 does away with Core Audio anyone have any idea if I'll be able to use my 003 as part of Pro Tools Aggregate I/O now ?

PT11 is not doing away with Core Audio. Where did you hear that?

They are two completely separate things. Core Audio is the method that Macs use to interface with audio devices. That has not changed one bit. Any interface you use must be core audio compliant. The 003 is, and will continue to be.

The 003 hardware is not built to be used in an aggregate fashion. That will not change at all. The specific audio interface must have that feature built into it.

It's the DAE engine they got rid of for a whole new audio engine. Again, this is nothing to do with Core Audio or ASIO, which are the way audio interfaces communicate with the computer. Those are the standards set by the Mac OS or Windows OS, and Avid has no control over that. That won't change.

And again, regardless of anything else, the aggregate audio function has to be built into the interface, and it wasn't on the 003, and that won't change.

The Eleven Rack and Mbox family does have this function, as well as many 3rd party interfaces.

Depending on how many inputs/outputs you need, we may be able to make some suggestions on products.

Ok thanks for the info. I'd misinterpreted a comment made about AAE. No great shakes, would've been nice to have had the Mac I/o available too.
