Pro Tools 9 on Digidesign 003 console

I am upgrading from PT LE 8.0.5 to PT 9.0.3. I'm currently using the Digidesign 003 Factory fader console with my PT LE8 on Windows 7 64bit. When I load my new PT9 upgrades, do I need to get brand new PT9 interface drivers to get the 003 fader console to work on PT9? Or will it recognize the interface and install the drivers automatically?

I'm about 90% certain that the first thing you do is download the correct drivers for your interface, then load PT9.

This is correct. And make sure you get the driver for the controller as PT9 now has separate drivers for the control surface(002/003) and the rack versions(002/003). I have drivers for both installed on my system and have used both versions of 002, and the 003 rack and controller(1 interface at a time) and all have worked fine. You also may need to select a different driver for the firewire controller. While the Legacy drive is recommended, it didn't work for me, while the TI driver works great(and sometimes changing the driver to the wrong one, and then back, will actually help). The "Factory" moniker simply refers to a batch of plugins. The 003 controller is all the same, with or without the plugins(which come with an iLok to authorize them). You will need to register your purchase and update your iLok as PT9 requires iLok authorization.
