Default Anyone using a PIII 800mhz with an M-Box...

...and getting GOOD results? I just got an M-Box with the Mackie Control surface and am currently running it on my Thinkpad R40, which has a faster CPU, but is also what I use for everything else BUT my audio works.

I'm running Windows 98 on the PIII and was using Cubase vSt on it, and I know I have to get Windows XP for Pro Tools to run, but I figured I'd run it on the laptop until I can afford to get me an Athlon processor and a motherboard to support it.

The laptop has all kinds of crap running in the background and so far, Pro Tools sometimes crashes because of it, but on the PIII, I don't run anything in the background at all, only the operating system, so I was wondering if anyone out there is running a similar setup so I can save some cash; so basically if I could only get XP and that's it, that would be cool.

Default BTW...

The computer where I've got the PIII installed has two Maxtor 7200 drives (one dedicated to audio), 512mb RAM, an ASUS CUSL2-C motherboard and a Plextor SCSI burner and a Zip drive in the same SCSI chain. Thanks.
