Yamaha 01v to control PTLE
Hi all,
I recently got a Yamaha 01v mixer and I am feeling stupid as I can't get the faders on the 01v to control the PT software faders. I have PT configured to accept info from a CS10 under peripherals as it says in the manual, when using other than the listed comtrollers. If I create a MIDI track, arm it to record, I can see that midi info is getting thru when I operate an 01v fader by watching the level meter so I assume that OMS is all set up correctly and such. At one point I got the mutes to go on and off, but nothing else. Is there a place to assign controller #7 (volume) to the faders? I'm stuck- any help will be mucho appreciated. Thanks, BruceB |

Re: Yamaha 01v to control PTLE
Yes, you can control PT with the 01v. But it really is not worth it...You can not get the 01v to reflect the fader levels etc. of Pro Tools.

Re: Yamaha 01v to control PTLE
Is the 01v similar to the ProMix O1?? That's what I have, and I've also been somewhat successful and controlling PTLE w/ my ProMix, but it was limited - maybe with more time working on it.

Re: Yamaha 01v to control PTLE
Thanks for your replies/opinions folks, I know this can be done (controlling PT with 01v) but my question is exactly how? I can't find it in the manuals how to configure everything. I want to make my own decosion on whether it is worth it or not.
Thanks, BruceB |

Re: Yamaha 01v to control PTLE
I have a Pro mix 1 and to control pt faders with it you must choose the Peavey controller in the menu. The Yamaha protocol is very similar. (fader 2 becomes fader 1 and so on). It doesn't use the motorized functions though, and isn't that great, but is better than a mouse for some applications.
