Protocol specs for Control|24?
Hey there,
I currently have a protools tdm system with a Control|24 surface, and would *love* to write some software so I can use my Control|24 to drive CubaseSX on my PC.. I'm an engineer and basically just need to know the ethernet frame protocol used by the Control|24. Any pointers to this information would be great thanks -San |

eheh
sorry if i am laughing, but i really doubt that digidesign will give out protocol-specs of their ethernet controller. Even other software companies that work intensively with digidesign hardware aren't allowed to write software for their controller. If you have luck to have those documents, i would really like to have them and write some software related to Control24/ProControl, since i am an electrical engeneer and i can write software too. Please let me know (here) if you can have access to those documents. Thank you very much in advance regards Ste |

Re: Protocol specs for Control|24?
Thanks for the inquiry.
Unfortunately, the ethernet frame protocol specs are proprietary and not available for distribution. DigiCS |

Re: Protocol specs for Control|24?
I hate to dredge up a 4 year old post, but I'm hoping to get Digi to comment on this. I'm not looking for their blessing, nor am I looking for assistance, but if one was to develop software that used the C|24, would they be in digitrouble? I understand the whole void warrantee blah blah blah thing. I wouldn't expect Digi to support the C|24 in non-standard installation/uses, naturally...
Comments?

Re: Protocol specs for Control|24?
I think the C24 protocols are simular if not identical to ICON family controllers. If so I dont think they'll release any info on that. Yes, C24 is old but with if its protocols are open to the public it can be made almost as functional and effective as the Icon is, now that's not what Digi would want, is it?

Re: Protocol specs for Control|24?
Well, i wasn't really asking for the protocol specs, I was asking what Digi might do if I 'figured it out on my own'. What do they have to gain? Free development? Increased sales of Control|24s?
