Default Even Dirk Turpin wore a mask when he robbed people

Hi,

512 busses: don't need that many, 256 is just fine!
160 aux's: 128 is plenty for me!
512 midi tracks: 256 is way more than i'll ever need!
Digi translator: already paid for it
MP3: already paid for it
Core audio: TDM plugs and HD6 accel in chassis? yeah right
512 virtual tracks: sharing 192 voices! but not tracks with RTAS plugs!!

I've never questioned an upgrade price before!!!! But £300

Chris

I'm trying to figure out if my brother in the U.S can buy it for me and still get it on my ilok account. $350 sounds a lot better...

I tried to get it from AVIDs U.S store but that seems difficult from Sweden.

Next step for me is to check third party online stores in the U.S that can sell it.

this step from avid will create thousands cheap "pro" PT HD 9 based studios they will offer same quality as old HD users who paid thousands graunds to avid.

I have tried online stores tonight, but it seems af if they don't have the opportunity now.

And I totally agree with Chris! Why bother - as a HD user this is much more of a cs Update.

Agreed. Not enough in this one to make we want to fork over $350. Maybe if I get a gig where the entire record is in Logic and I want OMF or something... or if I want to do something on my laptop (where Logic is working nicely at the moment)... meh.

Definitely not an update aimed at pro users. I already bought an LE to edit on when I'm not in front of my HD3. Already forked over the money for the DVToolkit for the LE as well as Digitranslator for the HD3. Already own surround tools. With no updated RTAS, MIDI or TDM emulator or 64 bit support, there's nothing there for most pros. I think they're attempting to woo the volume and wannabe crowd rather than the pro crowd.

One of these days someone's going to put out a DAW aimed at us, much like Final Cut Pro aimed at Avid a few years back, and they'll only have themselves to blame for not listening to the pro crowd. How a DAW can not have solid MIDI timing is beyond comprehension.

Actually, we are satisfied with what we have.

I totally get it for LE users. It's a BIG upgrade.
