What I REALLY would like to figure out is which the best way to go is.

What if you could get a new HD PCIe Core card (HD1) for the same price or nearly same price as this native card?

With a Mac Pro, and the Omni interface, for a single person recording (no groups, etc) that uses lots of tracks (well 60-70 sometimes)....would HD still have an advantage?

nice option, i'm kinda interested in the Pro Tools|HD Native Core PCIe Card and 8 x 8 x 8 HD I/O Bundle almost $7k plus a c24 and a macpro 12 core... but...maybe the c24 hd bundle is the way to go... i'm not sure...if i pick up the c24 bundle i'll choose an 8 core mac pro instead of the 12 core.

not sure....

They are both "HD"... but if they are roughly the same price, I would definitely go with the accel version. Seems to me the only difference is the DSP with which comes the ability to use TDM plugs.
I haven't researched it yet, but it must have some DSP for the HD mixer, and ADC, right? It just wont allocate it for Plugs?
I really hoped they would come out with "HD native" that would run on a Macbook.. and a "micro" type dongle. ff

Conjecturing here. It appears to be TDM without TDM plugins. My guess is that the mix and delay comp are still done on the core card while plugins are all RTAS.

Anyone got any better ideas?

maybe i'll better save for the c24 hd bundle and then add an apogee symphony. i research a little bit and the symphony is only compatible with the hd core card, but i ain't sure if the hd native work with it.
