My personal experience made me start OSX from scratch and install PT9 from there, I transferred back the plugins folder from my previous PT that I back up and it's been working 100% since, no even a single crash or error, sessions with 100 tracks, tons of VIs, plugins all over. I have PT 9HD.

marcioguitar - which plug ins do you use that are NOT on the avid compatibility list?

I have a feeling if we start there with folks we might be able to help narrow down any issues others are having.

The 8.0.4 updates were installed with the PT 8.0.4 update. AFAIK there is no single installer for the v8.0.4 PI's only. I do not know why, maybe just an oversight.

Pro Tools Tech Support Utilities.

So what do the red underlines mean in the "Pro Tools Version List.txt" ?

Hahaha, nice. So basically if you've jumped from PT7 to 9 you just can't update those plugs...

Anyone knows where I can find the PT 8.0.4 installer so I can extract those plugins from there?

I had about 2 weeks of frustration when I first got PT9. It kept crashing and I was trying to pin down the source.

In the end it turned out that a particular maxtor hard drive caused it. No idea why - I'd used this drive problem free with both PT6.9 and 8 - but since I've removed it from my system there's been no further crashes.

Worth a try.

mcdsp synth one hd v 4.3x5

in a 003 setup /10 voice instantiation of the VI... (maybe 8 voice) going through presets in either the pads 1 bank or synths bank causes the right channel of the vi synth to loose most of its gain then after continuing to scroll through presets ends up causing the actual session to loose the entire right side.

removing plug in brings audio back to both channels of master fader.

I remember similar problems with this VI in v8 and basically removed the plug in dues to these issues. thought i would give it a try in 9.

anyone using it fine?

You're using The Glue with no problems? I just opened up a session with Glue in it and got a message saying that it can't find it, it is in my plug-ins list, I searched for it manually in the session, but it wasn't there. Re-install The Glue?
