Default Decklink Studio compatibility?

Hey guys,

wondering if anyone is using the Deckling studio with PTHD?

I currently have intensity pro cards in two rigs and I need an HD SDI out to solve a cabling and converter mess I have going to our ADR stage, I know the decklink extreme 3d is qualified, but it has many capabilities that are completely useless for me and costs 300 dollars more. Something tells me any card using the blackmagic desktop video software set should work fine but maybe I am crazy.

Also, I heard the extreme does extended desktop, which I am not sure if the studio does, if the extreme does in fact do extended desktop I would consider picking those up instead.

All of the Decklink cards use the same software and work with Pro Tools. The Extreme is the only card to support extended desktop. I'm not 100% sure that functionality works with Pro Tools. We had performance issues in past software versions. Therefore used Blackmagics DVI to SDI converter in situations where we need extended desktop.
If all you need is HD SDI take a look at the Decklink SDI.

All I needed was HDMI (1080p) out to my HD projector and Tri-sync input to lock the picture with my Sync HD, so the Decklink Studio was perfect for me. Rock solid, never had a problem with it.

Cool. Glad to see its worked for you guys. I need HDMI to a screen in the rooms as well as HDSDI out to our ADR stage projector since there is no cable run for HDMI going that way, I figured the cost and hassle of AJA converters is the same as putting in a new card and it would definitely be cleaner. The try level sync is a really nice bonus, I miss that from my old Mojos

Has any one tried using the Decklink studio HD-SDI OUT through a Blackmagic or AJA SDI/HD-SDI to HDMI converter?

I've been thinking of getting a Decklink Studio myself since I discovered that the Intensity card cannot handle 1080p24 on the out. But unfortunately, I don't have any PCI slot space to include the HDMI daughterboard and this seems the only solution to feed the out to my LED TV.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Blackmagic cards dont function with Pro Tools on a PC, hopefully this oversight is fixed in PT11

Decklink Studio has a tri-level in? Thats awesome I didn't know that. Thought you needed to go fo the extreme. I've been avoiding upgrading my Mojo for fear of not having a reference input

Huh? I see on their web page it does. Also, I'm shooting out 1080p23.98 right now.
