Default Re: Does lighbridge support more than 18IO with PTMP?

Well, PTMP 8 is coming with 48 tracks, and 64 with MPTK 2,
in announce its mentioned "Pro Tools 8 expands the power of your current hardware interface"...
I hope this is in/out related, otherwise dont see how it can expand power of my current hardware interface !?
Any other hopes or speculations ?

So shall we rename the thread to : "Does lightbridge support more than 18IO with PTMP 8" ?

Hi, I am user PTMP 7.3.1cs6, Profire Lightbridge and mixer Yamaha 01v96v2.
Is really possible that this profire works with all outputs and ins? How do it?
In this forum some users says that i can do it. Is true?

Thank you

I also wouldn't mind if they removed the I/O limit on future versions.
I'd like to expand on mobile live recording, and even if I could afford it, lugging around a PT HD rig isn't as comfortable as a Macbook + a 3U-rack

Sure, I can use a free app like Ardour to track more than 18 ins, so I don't have to go HD to evade the limit, but it's still an annoyance.

I guess they'll have to add another ADAT I/O on a LE-Interface sometime in the future, when everyone else has 2 or more, and then raise the limit to 26 for both LE and MP.
But as long as the LE hardware is limited to 18, I wouldn't expect unlimited I/Os.

The PTMP 7.3.1cs2 is the last update which has 32 in/outs option open.
Read the previous posts. So all you have to do is uninstall (clean) your current ProTools and install version 7.3.1cs2 or cs1 or just7.3.1 or 7.3, they all have all in/outs open.
P.S: Dont worry about clean uninstall, all of your plugins and authorizations will stay intact.

Not just to keep this thread on the top...
This is question for Digidesign :

Will PTMP or LE 8 have the ability to use more than 18 ins/outs depending on hardware used ?

Neither PTMP or LE 8 add any further capabilities for number of IO supported.

Angry Re: Does lighbridge support more than 18IO with PTMP?

Is anyone running PTMP 7.3.1cs2 on Leopard? I'm seriously thinking about rolling back and trying it because of this silly i/o limitation.

I can understand that digi wants to make people buy HD but I'd be willing to pay another $600 to make 24 i/o work. Right now, as much as I like PT I'm looking at maybe moving to Logic or something similar.

I tryed it on Leopard 10.5.1 and it didnt work well at that time. M-Audio FW drivers were not updated then. Dont know if it works good now with latest drivers and system updates. Why dont you try and post your experience here ?
