Beachballs in 18.4 vs. 18.3
Trashed prefs, trashed workspace files, upgraded to 18.4, and once in a while I get a 20-30 sec. beachball. This persisted for a couple of days. Trashed everything again, still beachballs. Trashed again, but then downgraded to 18.3 and almost no beachballs.
No idea why. I even looked at Activity Monitor to try to figure it out. Anyway, 18.3 is zippy. My new favorite version. Mac Pro 6,1 64GB RAM, macOS 10.13.3, PT|Native, EuCon 18.3.

Re: Beachballs in 18.4 vs. 18.3
Learned more about this. 18.4 is fine. My system needed a manual permissions reset:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203538 This is the first time I've done this, but it eliminated beachballs with PT. Still don't know why 18.4 was more sensitive to this, but 18.4 is fast and solid now.
