Default MIDI notes problem

Not finding what I assume is a simple setting issue: MIDI piano won't record/playback a glissando; like it can't record short enough notes- plays back 1/16's instead of 1/64's (or something like that), resulting in not all notes of gliss being played. ?
Thanks
