Default freezes on screen

Just wanted to know if anyone out there has seen this.

When working with PT5.0 we get temporary freezes about 3 to 5 seconds long. No hang just everything just freezes with the stopwatch or hand counting. Sometimes when somthing is playing it just keeps on playing and all the controls are useless. This goes on for three to five seconds as well.

Called Digi tech support about it and no one knows why. This just happened recently after a clean OS re-install. Any clues or suggestions will be appreciated.

Just a guess but, open the TCP/IP Control Panel and if the Configure popup menu is set to "Using DHCP Server," switch it something else (like "Manually").

Are you by chance using the ixMicro Dual Monitor card? Our PT systems started doing the "stall" after we installed these cards.

If that is so, and you find a fix, I'd love to hear it!

Brent, I use dhcp and it works fine. Wasn't there an issue with the OT depending on which OS you are using.

MacDaddy WGAR,
I really don't know what the deal is in regards to the "Using DHCP Server" setting. Someone posted that it can sometimes cause the computer to hang at random times. In one case, switching it resolved the issue. However, you are probably right in that it was a problem specifc to a version of Open Transport.

I guess it never hurts to try all options...
