Firefox 4 is crap...
I'm going back to IE8.
I'm tired of multiple clicks on links to get them to open. I'm tired of poor http rendering. I'm tired of not being able to sync my ilok. I'm tired of the "New & Improved". I want the comfort of my old lover. Goodbye Firefox, hello Internet Explorer.

I use Chrome for pretty much everything, but IE9 for iLok.com and a few other sites that need IE to work properly.

Re: Firefox 4 is crap...
I still have Firefox 4, but I'm using IE9 now. Microsoft stepped their game up in a big way, and using jumplist and Pin sites really sold me. I also have chrome, but I like IE9 better at the moment.

Re: Firefox 4 is crap...
Of course 4 sucks, its still too new.
I'm still on 3.6 and it runs great. IE still blows in my eyes, but to each his own. Until I see NoScript on Chrome, FF will continue to be the browser of choice. Security > speed and gimmicks any day.

Peter Vreugdenhil exploited Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 by using two vulnerabilities that involved bypassing ASLR and evading DEP. Nils hacked Firefox 3.6 on Windows 7 64-bit by using a memory corruption vulnerability and bypass ASLR and DEP. Mozilla patched the security flaw in Firefox 3.6.3 Here is what Charlie Miller said (the guy who can hack a Macbook in under 2 minutes) "There are some bugs in Chrome, but they are difficult to explore. I have a vulnerability in Chrome right here, but do not know how to exploit it. It is very difficult. They have that sandbox model, which is difficult to circumvent. With Chrome, it is a combination of factors - you cannot run on the stack, the protections of the operating system (Windows) and in the sandbox. Re: Firefox 4 is crap...
Don't get me wrong... I really like Chrome, and the idea of sandboxing is great.
But the factors of standalone browser use vs one with effective plugins (like NoScript) is a whole different story. By itself, Chrome should be the most secure, but I can't control it in the same way that I can with FF with addons. When more extensions become available, I'll be more likely to switch over.

Re: Firefox 4 is crap...
Nope. This PC is XP. The soonest I'll be able to make a new build might be towards the end of summer.
You know, I hadn't thought of reverting. It took a few minutes to find the download but I'm back to 3.6. All my customizations are still there and everything works properly again. I'm happy.

My DAW is running Win7 and IE9. (except when I'm updating the 11rack ) and I'll say that IE9 strikes the perfect balance between IE and Crome. Is fast and the GUI is very clean. And it gave a huge amount of real estate back to the actual browser window. Nice. IE9 is the deciding factor for me as far as finally upgrading my regular XP desktop. Well that and my old version of Office XP being well past its shelf life. I was hoping to wait until X68 or Haswell but I think I going to jump sooner. I predict that a lot of XP users are going to pick Chrome over FF since IE9 is out of the equation.
