Bad Output Card
So it appears that I have a bad output in one of my output cards (output 1 on output card G). I have a D-Show with 48 inputs and 24 outputs. Not sure what the issue actually is. When you try to use it you only get a nasty buzz and the led that indicates you have signal (on the stage rack) doesn't indicate that it is sending any signal. Everything is patched correctly and I have switched cables. I think my next move is to reseat the output card and maybe blow out the ribbon connector to see if that is the issue. Anybody have any thoughts on how to resolve the issue besides replacing the card?
Thanks Gary |

Re: Bad Output Card
So I swapped cards around and the problem followed the card. I guess its a card issue. Think it's time I call Avid. Bummer.

Re: Bad Output Card
Tech support will swap the card for you and it's nowhere near as expensive as you might think. Also, how old is the console? Our's did all sorts of weird things that ALL went away after we changed the BIOS battery. This includes an intermittent 8 to 10K sine wave down one of our output cards. Our board is eight years old, but if yours is four or more, you might want to give the battery a try. It's a $2 fix.
