OSX 10.5.5 wont recognize Oxygen 8, anyone?

I'm having the same issue. My Oxygen 8 shows up without any trouble on my laptop 1.5 gHz G4 running 10.4.11 but won't show up on my desktop Duo 2.8 Quad-Core running 10.5.5. The keyboard gets power from the usb, but doesn't show up in the Audio MIDI Setup page.

I tried trashing those preferences. It did not help.

Same for me. Oxygen 8 won't work on any audio programs (Logic Pro 8 among others) on my quad 2.8.

Have you tried a different USB cable, connecting it to a different USB port, disconnecting other USB devices that may be causing conflicts or testing from a new admin account?

I'm new to this message board, so please indulge me if I'm not following the correct protocols.

I, too, was having the same problem as described above. However, after following all of the above instructions, I re-installed the M-Audio software that contains multiple drivers for various MIDI hardware units. After a restart of my computer, Pro Tools, Reason, and AMS were able to "see" my Oxygen 8 keyboard. In my setup, it is "Keystation" that shows up in all the MIDI applications, and seems to be what controls the Oxygen 8 keyboard. The download is called MIDI_USB_OSX_3.2.3.dmg from the M-Audio site. It's my understanding that the Oxygen 8 is a Class Compliant devise, and doesn't require drivers. My guess is that with the upgrade to Pro Tools 8.x and OS X 10.5.6, whatever "drivers" existed previously, were lost or not installed with the upgrades.


My platform specs:

MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM 667 MHz, LaCie external Firewire 800 Hard Drive, M-box 2 Micro, Oxygen 8 ( older model ) USB powered. Pro Tools v8.0.0cs2, Reason v4.0.1, AMS v2.2.2.

Notes: My Oxygen 8 was USB powered via a Griffin powered USB 1 x 4 hub, plugged into the Right side front-most USB port of my MacBook Pro. The M-box 2 Micro was plugged into the Left side rear-most USB port.

I think there is an older and newer version of the oxygen 8. I think my older model works.
