01V96, Pro Tools and DA88s

okay, a few questions...

1. When using the 01v as a control surface for the 001 and dealing with stereo tracks, how do I get a channel pan on the 01v to see the 'right' panner in pro tools. It always defaults to just the left one and i can not figure out how to control the right one. Any ideas from experienced 01Vers.

2. Trying to get machine control of the DA88's through 01V. There is no midi in and out on the back of the DA88s. How (if there is a way) do I gain control of the DA88s through the 01V.

Q-1. having used various control surfaces I find the HUI emulation on the mixers lacking.

Q-2. you have to have a SY-88 card installed in DA-88 #1 to used MIDI, SMPTE etc.

yea, I did some research, and one could also use the MMC interface! Thanks for the reply.

Yea, I know that the HUI protocol is kinda lacking, but there has got to be some way to control the pans of a stereo track inside Pro Tools.

Another Ideas??
