Default Midi Pitch bend plays notes

Pt 12.7
Mac Mini server 16GB Ram
Yosemite
KX88 controller
USB cable generic midi cable midi interface

With any soft instrument a midi pitch wheel event causes a few dozen notes to play.

I reset the KX88
I dont have another midi controller to check
Is this a known issue?

Get the free snoize MIDI monitor utility and use that to see what exact messages your controller is sending out. You don't need or want to have PT running when doing this. If you get the right MIDI messages then you'll have to look elsewheres. It also helps to know what the MIDI message are supposed to be.

Exactly what I needed.
Thanks,

My KX is outputting "note ons" rather than pitch bend.
It is 30 years old so......

In case anyone else has this issue:

It is a KX-88 issue.

The internal clocking can conflict with the midi clock.

There is a magic start up combination to disable the KX internal clock.
Hold down MODE while powering up.

This and other great KX88 info was found here:

Thanks ValidOpinion
