Default Hey Allen

I'm hitting the limitations within my system on some mixes I'm working on for this band. Tons of tracks and lots of plugs. Of course, I'm consolidating where possible, but it's starting to get frustrating. Can I expect noticeable performance gains by upgrading my mbo and processor to your recommended setup (AMD 64)? If so, is that all I'd need to upgrade? I basically have the under $600 setup currently as far as mbo, cpu, memory.

Also, I'm probably going to go to the 002R this summer, how will that effect things (I already have a firewire card) as far as performance? Thanks

What clock and multiplier are you using with the 2500+? If you're prepared to replace the MOBO and CPU with the AMD 64 3500, which will definitely boost your performance, it might be worth trying to overclock the one you've got first.

I haven't seen anyone with the new AMD 64 3400+ or above run out of processing power yet. There is a big difference from what you are using and the AMD 64 processors. I think you can upgrade now for around 300.00 with the 3400+/K8V-X combo.
