Default Machine control

We've just upgraded from our Mix24 PT 5.1 to 6.4.1,system is a G4 running panther, we're having problems getting machine control to behave properly through the G4port serial card, if you open machine control once it has been set during a session the Mac freezes, also the deck is not stable when being controlled by PT, we have installed the panther driver availible from griffen, additional info; VTR Sony DVW500 digibeta, control surface control 24. Any advice gratefully recieved.

Cheers

I don't know that the G4 Port serial card will work properly with machine control in OSX. Better to get a Keyspan USB to Serial adaptor, as that's what it was tested with and we know it works well. More information on setup using the Keyspan can be found in the Machine Control Guide.

Correct.
I have both a stealth port (which replaces the modem) and a Keyspan USA28X. The Keyspan is the way to go with machine control.
