Whether or not including a paper manual in the past has been commonplace is irrelevant. And being in the minority about caring about getting a paper manual is also quite irrelevant. What IS important is that I was told I was buying one thing, and then got another. I LOVE PT8, I'm just saying its kind of crappy to be told one thing and then get another. Whether it was DIGI or Sweetwater that was confused, I'm not sure and don't really care.

PT8 does rock. The comping feature is great and the VIs are killer. I hated using logic and now it looks like I won't have to. Score.

Digi Great Job!!! You guys are definetly gonna kill the market!

Still waiting on being able to use my laptop keyboard as a midi controller like Logics Caps lock key, but its okay ill be patient. I wanna make music while at work and looks like im typing lol

ProTools 8 sounds great to me, but I run Windows XP which only allows ProTools 7.4 to use 1.5gb of RAM- which causes a problem when loading BFD drums. A few months ago I discovered through this forum a way to get ProTools 7.4 to recognize 2.7gb of RAM. And it has worked brilliantly. So I am wondering if this same approach will work for ProTools 8? If it doesn't I would then lose 1gb of usable RAM if I go with ProTools 8 - which would not work for me.

Man, you guys are making me drool...but I've got to solve a serious computer virus issue before I can deal with getting and upgrading to PT 8. SOmehow I picked up a virus that won't let you access any of the anti-virus websites! Nasty little bugger!

Digi hasn't included a manual in a while yet I see several bound PT manuals when I'm in Guitar Center so someone will eventually sell one. Just not right away when the first users want it.

If it's really that big of a deal, take the pdf to Kinko's.

After read the posts, I decided to upgrade. Unfortunately the store isn't working so well. Its take 5 minutes each to go from screen to screen. By the time I get to check out the whole thing times out and i have to start all over again.

I'd say that guy needs to buy you a manual!
