Default Bizarre Rec-Enable MIDI routing fault.

Hi all,

As I move towards more soft synths these days, I put together a template session, complete with a dozen or so Instrument Tracks.

I then, for example, placed a Hybrid synth on the first Insert of each track.

This is where things get strange:

- If I have no rec-enabled tracks, one of the synth plays (ie. the default thru) which is to be expected.
- If I rec-enable Hybrid #2, it might play, as expected.
- But if I rec-enable Hybrid #3, then Hybrid #7 responds.
- And if I rec-enable Hybrid #8, then Hybrid #9 responds.

It's all messed up! Removing Hybrid inserts then re-enabling, and copy/dragging them between the tracks only reshuffles which confused Hybrid track responds from what other rec-enabled track.

It's bizarre!

Thinking it may be caused through copying via option+drag, I cleared all the inserts, then loaded Hybrid as a fresh plug-in on each track. It's similarly messed up.

Any ideas?

About a week or two *before* stumbling across this problem, so yep, must do. Cheers.

In failing that, I'll also create a brand new session and test it. May be a problem with the template I created at the beginning of the year.

I'd be interested in hearing the out come, Phil. By the way, what version of Pro Tools are you running?

OK, prefs trashed, permissions repaired, and still no good.

Check this out...

Playing keys into the rec-enabled Track #8... and the Hybrid plug-in on Track #3 responds! Like I said, it's bizarre!

For the next test, I'll load up a brand new session...

Oh, and I'm running PTLE 7.3.1.

Wait! The clean session appears to be OK!

Damn, I don't feel recreating my session template from scratch. I might try a "Save Copy In" clone of the template to see if it'll get around the fault...

OK, sorted it (for now).

I deleted *all* the Instrument Tracks from my template session, re-added the Instrument Tracks, and all appears ok.

Let's see how things go...
