Default Pro Tools 10 Live Play For A Small Band

Hi everyone,

My brother has a small band, he wants to hook up Korg Pa3X76 keyboard to his laptop with Pro Tools 10 installed.

His goal to be able to link his Korg Pa3X76 controllers to the Pro Tools 10 so that he can select the instrument (channel) from Korg Pa3X76 keyboard for live playing.

For example, he has the following virtual instruments setup on his Pro Tools:

Channel (track) 1 as Piano
Channel (track) 2 as Guitar
Channel (track) 3 as Silk (PLAY)

Whenever he hits the 1st controller on his Korg Pa3X76, the Pro Tools will automatically switch to Track 1 (Piano).

Whenever he hitts the 2nd controller on his Korg Pa3X76, the Pro Tools will automatically switch to Track 2 (Guitar)...

I think you guys get my idea of what he is trying to do up to this point lol

is there anyway he could make this happen?

Thank you very much

I'm not sure about the Korg controller but with newer M-Audio controllers you can change selected tracks with the midi keyboard and set protools to receive omni on selected track so just have each midi track pointing to the desired VI and move back and forth via controller etc. But again not sure how this works with that controller.

Thanks for the information. I just read about the M-Audio Axiom Pro 49, it is a little expensive, but it has the function which allows me to do the keystrokes (setup/program the keys to work with Pro Tools).

No problem - the Axiom is the best option m-audio wise for controlling protools - but I use my oxygen 61 (black/dark blue model) to do the control set I mentioned just fine. The 49 key is $150
