Default PT 9: Wow.

I finally got around to putting PT 9 on my Mac Book Pro. I was waiting for the first update to come out (always a smart thing, I believe).
So, I installed Snow Leopard, downloaded the PT update, got the PT 9 Discs delivered by FedEx, installed the drivers, PT 9, then the update. Fixed permissions. Moved a couple of plug ins from challenge-respond to iLok validation, got the PT iLok license.. installed.

Restarted the Mac Book. Voila. EVERYTHING works. No issues at all in stand-alone mode. Then connected to my 002. Changed the hardware settings. EVERYTHING works. ADC does make a difference in the mixes! Time Adjuster wasn't a big deal for me, but I love ADC.

Now hoping this post doesn't jinx anything!

Avid rocks.

I was also fortunate to just install the 9.0.1 version. And seeing all the horror stories I almost expected something to go wrong. But everything so far has been a dream! I am in love with PT9, now I just have to figure out the quick key for create a new playlist and I'll be happy :P

So, does the update make it load any faster? I know it fixed the MIDI/AMS bug, but I noticed most things were listed as Windoze fixes.
What was the best way to do the update? I already have 9.0. Should I completely un-install 9.0 and just install the 9.0.1 version?

It loads pretty quick for me. First time always takes a while... after that, it's quick.
I just downloaded the 9.01 install file. There's a link on the DUC page.
