Default L2 or STC-8

I'm looking for a hardware compressor/limiter to replace the software L1 I've been using. I'm interested in the L2 and the Cranesong STC-8. How do these compare?

Thanks in advance.

IMO they don´t compare at all.
The STC-8 is a fabulous analog compressor/limiter, the L2 is a digital limiter only (though the best today) and a really good A/D converter.

If you´re looking for the best compressor to shape your sound buy the STC-8 (I love mine).
If you want to do the loudness war and need good converters buy the L2.
Or buy both, they should complement fine... ;-)
