Thanks, I messaged you back...check these too:

On Amazon Fire tablets, under battery settings turn off Automatic Smart Suspend and Scheduled Smart Suspend for Wi-Fi. Also ensure that "Treat as unmetered" is the selected option in Settings > Internet > Wi-Fi preferences (then click on the gear next to the Wi-Fi network being used and go to the "Metered" line). It should not be set as "Detect automatically" or "Treat as metered".

Hi Eddie,

I dug out my ancient first generation iPad mini and with the current AVID control app I could work all day with zero disconnects. On the FHD10 the opposite. Constant dis/re-connects and I'm not even using the meters so rather light traffic I guess. This is all in the same network and with that "metered" setting turned off. I strongly suspect that the recent tablet's OS broke something.
The FHD10 had been fine for 2 years more or less until very recently.

My replacement FHD10 is pretty awful too on the S1.
All settings are as advised.
Previous 9 was pretty reliable.
But this one has been a liability from purchase.
Huawei Tablet is still solid on the Dock.

Same problem here, the Fire HD 10 often disconnects since some months, it was running fine before, actually it has been more fluid than my iPad Pro 10,5 on WiFi, the iPad was lagging more, especially when having some of the macOS continuity features on, like linking keyboard and mouse, I resolved this through connecting the iPad via Ethernet which is pretty stable. Ethernet is not possible on the Fire HD with a USB-C adapter, or?

Might help to post what generation of FireHD10 also. There are multiple.
I have the 9th Gen and zero problems (current version is 13th Gen) Fire OS 7.3.2.9

We are thinking ver 8 is the one causing the issues, so this makes sense
