Why is my Pro Tools install disk blank?

I recently discovered that Pro Tools 11.1.2 does not work with my Mac Maverick OS 10.9.2 (mounted on my 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo), so I decided to use a workaround and mount my older Pro Tools 8 (with upgrades to 8.0.3) on a restored version of an older hard drive.

Problem: My Pro Tools disk tells me there is nothing on it to mount. How can that be? And does someone know a link to where I can find a copy of the Pro Tools 8, just in case?

PT8 will most likely not work on Mavericks. You would have your most recent install media on your Avid Account. Just re-download and re-install and you should be fine.

Unfortunately, the new Pro Tools 11 (and the upgrades from LE 8.0.3) do not work with my 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, on which I recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.9.2. Avid has told me they don't plan on trying to find a fix for it. Said "find a workaround."

I was forced to install an older Mac OS on an outboard hard drive, so I could reinstall my Pro Tools 8.

The problem: Pro Tools 8 disk no longer contains the data - it is blank.

Am at a loss.

Pro tools 8 disks were notorious for being faulty - log into your account and download it from your products sections

...and IMO Core2Duo is not enough for PT11, you really REALLY *REALLY* need i7

He is installing PT8 b/c PT11 can't run on His install

Edit I personally didn't think you could use the core 2 duo cpu's for mavericks but I guess he found a workaround for that

Your 11 license should also have a bundled 10 license
8 was a dog
