EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
Why has every version of EuCon under Mavericks asked on every boot if I want to accept incoming connections. I've added it to the firewall and told it to always accept, and yet on every boot, it asks me again.
Is everyone else seeing this too? Anyone figure out a way to get rid of that? |

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
So really? 167 people have viewed this, but not ONE could be bothered to simply reply if they are also seeing this behavior with EuCon and Mavericks? Thanks.

For what it's worth, I see it too and haven't figured out a way to stop it.

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
How about this (from Apple)
Allow signed software to receive incoming connections Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, and then click Firewall. Click the lock icon to unlock it, and then type an administrator name and password. Click Firewall Options. Select the “Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections” checkbox. If this does not work EuCon might not be "Signed software". There are ways around this too, just Google for it. |

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
My firewall options are already set that way...makes no difference.

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
Honestly, if your mac is already behind a router with a built-in firewall, there's no need to have the firewall enabled in OS X.

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
Just FYI, today I got frustrated enough to explore. Go to your Firewall pane, and then once there, remove EuCon from the list to allow incoming network connections. Now restart. It'll ask again, and put itself back on the list. For whatever reason, removing it and then rebooting, letting it add itself, SEEMS to have finally fixed this for me starting with EuCon 3.2

Re: EuCon keeps asking to Accept Incoming Connections
I'll say it again, as someone with 15 years+ of experience in IT.
You do not NEED to enable the firewall in OS X if you are already behind a (wireless) router, with the Internet connection plugged into that. Those have firewalls already. It's not necessary. You are causing unneeded aggravation for yourself when it comes to eucon. |
