Default Eventide or Sound Toys

I didn't have much time on the Eventide Clockworks before my demo ran out, I liked it, but didn't come to a decision to buy... I've been playing around with Sound Toys, pitch and time blender. Seems nice... Looking for micro pitch to thicken a weak vocal, but it would be nice to get a chorus and delay as well... Wondering what impressions others have on these two plug ins...

i have soundtoys plugs, they're overrated.

i never ever use them.

go for the eventide! seems like more rack style function, and less esoteric lameness.

naturally, my opinion only...

how would i know what you like?

Soundtoys, overrated ? I don't think so. I LOVE THEM. You are talking about Soundblender and that is an amazing plug-in, very cool effects and great chorus. Totally different from Clockworks.

They're really different beasts. I've got all the Eventide plugs and all of the Sound Toys plugs and they're both great and useful.

I can't imagine anybody thinking that filterfreak or phasemistress are overrated though, I think they're pretty great. But that's what makes a horse race, I suppose.

SoundToys plugs overrated?!? Wow, even I've got to give my 2-cents on this one. I think they're fantastic and rarely run a session without using them in multiple instances. I also like the Eventide plugs. They really are two different beasts, for the most part. Check out the demos from both companies and decide for yourself. If you're like every other PT user I know, you'll find yourself wanting everything both companies have to offer.

super glad you like 'em and use them.

i have been nothing but disappointed in the ultra tools purchase. based on that, i never bought the filter or phaser, so i wouldn't know...

But from the rare use, to the overpriced updates they have not been useful to me at all.
wanna buy mine?
heh...

to each their very own.

Soundtoys Plugins are NOT overrated. I have both the Eventide and all the Soundtoys. I use the Soundtoys stuff more. Albeit, I have had it longer and I am used to it. In any case, I don't think you can lose. They are both very good. Good Luck, Kris

Sound Toys plugz rock. I could not live without Pure Pitch.. Only drag is that they're TDM hogs. PP takes up an entire INSTANCE.
