I cannot get the cursor to start where I want. Any ideas what I did?

Hello, the timeline selection marker will not start where I want it to. For example, when I click in the middle of a guitar track with the cursor. The music only will start where the blue timeline selection marker is currently sitting and will not automatically move where i want it to. It used to work fine, but now it will not move based on where i click. Did I hit a wrong button to change my settings? I went into preferences and cannot seem to figure out how it should be set up. Any tips are appreciated.

U need to link timeline & edit selection...@ the top left(sorta) where the tab to transient button is, u will see this which I speak of... Jus hold the cursor over the tabs & it'll tell u what each one is...
