Digi 002 Rack Failure to Communicate! Help!
Currently, when I try to launch Pro Tools, the software comes up with a message "unable to communicate with digidesign hardware"
I replaced the firewire cables (twice) and when I do, the led (green) lights up for a second and then goes dark. I have de-powered, replaced firwire cable, prayed and swore.........what to do next.....I NEED MY MUSIC! Please help (if you can) Thanks. Currently running ver 6.2 on Mac OSX using either a G4 Tower or a Powerbook G4. Thanks very much......feel free to email [email protected]

Sounds like the dreaded power harness issue. Pop the cover and unplug-replug every harness connection a couple of times and you may be up and running again without waiting for a replacement. Meanwhile, welcome to the DUC and by all means, read lots of the stuff here as you will pick up all kinds of usefull tips and info. The power harness has been discussed to death.

It worked! The little white connector left of center on the top board looking from the front. All of the other have gluey stuff on them and so that must have been the one! Thanks man!
