Default Pro Tools LE 8.0.4 and PLAY

Hi guys,

I'm a new Pro Tools user = I'm a noob.
I've worked on various software and managed to do everything in PT so far. Still, I need most of East West PLAY instruments and they are the only thing that I didn't manage to route to inputs and MIDI channels.

Can you show me a way to insert a Instrument track, load PLAY and load 5 instruments (for example) in it, route each output to 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and so on and after that to assign the MIDI tracks to PLAY's outputs.

I can't get any sound, the only output I can use is PLAY channel 1.

And my second question - if I manage to assign PLAY to midi channels, is there a way to insert effects on them, without freezing/bouncing?

Thanks very much in advance - much appreciated!!!

Regards,
George.

After you have created an instrument track with an instance of play inserted create MIDI tracks (as many as you need) and when you select the outputs of the MIDI tracks you should see the Play channels listed.

Hope this helps.

Hey, mate,

thanks for replying. I got the problem - I had to load an additional AUX channel to route the audio signal from PLAY to a seperate channel.

I didn't realize that I had to load an INSTRUMENT track, then a MIDI track and finally an AUX track.

Thanks very much, problem resolved

You don't even need the instrument track. You could just insert Play on your aux track and assign the outputs of the MIDI tracks to Play's MIDI channels.

An instrument track is great for a single instrument, but for a multi-timbral setup the Aux/MIDI channel setup is simpler.
