As long as it has PCI-express slots, which the new "trashcan" models do not (but if you buy that you could buy thunderbolt HDN)

You need the Digilink authorization to run a 192 Digi I/O? I wouldn't have considered these to be a third party interface.

A Digilink license is for ANY digilink box(Digidesign, Avid or anyone else) with 12.6HD and up

Just doesn't make sense that you have to purchase the HD Native card, purchase Pro Tools HD software and then spend an additional $299 to get a Digilink license in order to run an Avid/Digidesign interface. In the Avid Store it states "Use your favorite third-party DigiLink interfaces with Pro Tools | HD". In the store they're making out it's for third-party interfaces only.

If I'm correct the Digilink license is to make the Digilink ports on the HDX/HD Native and HD Thunderbolt ports operate (software wise). You'll need this license for any version of PT HD 12.6 or higher to operate ANY HD interface (3rd party included).
