Default Headphones out on 11R

Hi folks!

Did some recording with a pretty selective guitarist last night on a project I play bass on. Of course we are recording in the home studio with the 11R. We found him a tone so fast that was so good he was blown away. I just keep finding reasons to love my 11 rack!

One problem we had though was that for the life of me, I couldn't get the head phones to play a signal. I've not tried to use them since I upgraded to PT 9 though, and with the new audio out options I'm thinking I'm missing something here.

I have studio monitors connect via XLR and before PT9 I could just plug in phones and get what was coming out of the mains to feed into there w/o doing a single thing, loved it.

Is there some toggle somewhere in the IO that tells the I/O 'hey, send it to the phones as well' now? I can't seem to find anything.

Thanks for any help, as always, this forum rocks!

Nothing specific to ProTools 9 but is the headphone unmuted (in Eleven Rack) and the headphone volume turned up (in Eleven Rack>User Options)?

Thanks Darryl,

I'm not blaming PT9, maybe it sounds that way, I'm just stating what changes I've made between when I last knew it worked and now that it is not.

I appreciate the comments and make sure I check those settings again!

Peace!

Well just grand, another slap your head moment. The volume was all the way down in user settings. I wonder, perhaps the volume nazi swung over while I was at work lol :)

Glad to help., BTW I really don't like the headphone out audio quality at all. When I want Eleven Rack headphone outs I'm running a pair of Sennheiser HD 600 from a Meir Audio CORDA headphone amp wired off the main outs.
