Consolidate option in Import Session Data not working
Hello everyone,
(I've already posted this in the LE section but since it also happens under HD I thought I could "double-post"... Sorry if I wasn't supposed to) I've noticed a very strange behaviour lately. When importing tracks from one session to another using the Import session data option, checking the "Consolidate from source media" option (+handle size) doesn't seem to do anything. Once imported, regions on the tracks are not consolidated using the defined handle size. They can be trimmed way past this handle size...?... I've tried different handle size (from 1000ms to 0) and made tests using different sessions and tracks, it won't work. I've also tried the "Copy from source media" option just to see what happened and it gets weirder. I've tried importing a 30 minutes files edited to a 10 seconds region, using both "Copy" then "Consolidate" (50ms handle size). With the "Copy" option, I do get the 10 sec region that I can trim up to 30 minutes. Now, using the "Consolidate" option, the resulting 10sec region can be trimmed up to 2minutes 26seconds!... ?... I don't get it. I've tried with shorter files with the same result. Any Idea?... Setup: G4 2x1,25/10.4.8/PT 7.3.1cs3 + HD3 (192I/O) AND: I get the same problem on a Digi002-10.4.8-PT7.3.1cs3

Re: Consolidate option in Import Session Data not working
Just coming back to say that several users (and friends) did the test for me. It doesn't work with their setup too!
They have different PT versions (7.1, 7.2 and 7.3) and all of them encounter the same bug. I've made further tests and found that the Consolidate option works when importing OMF files... Go figure. Digi? Anyone? (I would specially be interested if a 6.9 user could make the test)

Re: Consolidate option in Import Session Data not working
Is noone interested in that matter?
I mean, is nobody else using Import and consolidate options?? I do think this is a serious and very time wasting bug and really wish for an answer here, at least from Digi. Is that one of the "known issues"?...

If you're looking for an answer directly and promptly, you may want to use the email Tech Support Request form, as we do not always see every post that is made here. With that - this issue has been logged for a fix. |
