Default GUI and midi freeze during playback

Sometimes I get the freeze of the GUI and the stop of all midi (and VI) for a while during playback.
I've heard that this problem occours when the CPU is overloaded and PT give to audio any priority, leaving other tasks to their destiny. But recentely I've noticed this problem even with a lite session loaded.
Any info about that?

It's probably related to one of your Plug-ins. PT7.x is very picky that all plug-ins get updated for PT7 compatibility, so I'd start by removing your 3rd party plugs from the plug-ins folder and add them one at a time, restarting PT for each one and eventually you'll find the one that is causing your problem.

I've noticed that the Arturia stuff tends to be a bit buggy on one of my clients rigs that uses their stuff, so if it were my rig I'd start there, and also make sure you've checked the manufacturer's websites for all your 3rd party stuff (Sony, McDSP etc.) and make sure you've downloaded and installed their PT7 updates.

Thank you for your advices.
I'll try to remove all 3rd party plugs, then reinstall them one at time.

I've had the same problem with PTLE7.1cs6 on my new Dual Core Allenstein - the whole GUI froze and all I could do was press the reset button!

However, most of the other times I've experienced PT7 crash, abort or turn into a quivering wreck I've checked the system log and surprise - always its "Protools.exe has caused a fault in module Autotune.dpm" ... hmmm... I thought that AT4 latest version had been updated for PT7??

Antares - you need to look into this one...

Mike
