Default Dual 867 MDD G4

I see in the compatiabilty section they don't recommend anything less than 1gig (even dual).
I have a dual 867 MDD.
Has anyone used PT7 with this setup, and how did it work?

According to this web site on compatibility:

Not Recommended

All models with processor speeds less than 1 GHz
All "Quicksilver" models from 2001-2002

I would like to hear a response from a Digi moderator. I can't beleive a dual 867 will not work.
If not, the new dual cores havn't been tested, so now what. I don't want to buy a larger dual processor model ,when the new dual core macs are out at about the same price.

I have 5 of those MDD Dual 867's with Mbox 1’s.
I hate to spend $75-$99 just to try.
All posts indicate a very finicky PT’7LE.
On the other hand I’m running a PT7HD setup and it’s the most stable PT’s yet.

Not qualified = unsupported. May work with track limitations.
Or may just raise havoc.

My 7 Mac outdated LE systems for now will stay at 6.9.2.
It doesn't take long to be outdated nowadays.

Please post your results if you take the chance.

I have the Dual 867 MDD G4 as well. I was thinking about getting 7LE in a few weeks. I would sure like to know if it will work or not. This leads to another question. How long will we have to wait down the road until we get a native version of PT7 LE for the intel Macs? Next year my computer will be a getting a little long in the tooth and I will have to replace it. By that time, the Intel-based powermacs will probably be out and I wonder how PT7 LE will run on the Rosetta emulator.

I am willing to bet that this will not be as smooth as planned. I don't think it will necessarily be Digi's fault. I think many other processor intensive apps will have some hiccups as well. Those are just going to be things that are inherent in processor emulation.

If I buy 7 before the new intel-based macs come out and it runs on my present system, great. I'll be able to use my current system for a whilelonger and take advantage of the new features in 7, namely the better implementation of dual-proc proccesing. Next year when I upgrade to a new system, will I have to buy a new copy of 7 to run on my new system or will digi provide intel-native versions to registered users? Will Digi even have one available?

Has Digi released any plans or info about their development timeline concerning his transition? I don't mean to hijack this thread, but if current dual G4 systems will no longer work/be supported with PT 7, then those of us with those systems mentioned above might be may be put into a precarious situation when it comes time to upgrade and Digi hasn't kept up.

Thoughts?
