Default doing audio for Avid

Hey friends,

I did a 1 1/2 minute audio piece that will be be used in Avid, at another facility.
What is the best way to deliver it to them?

Does Avid use 24 bit files?
If so, can I bounce to disc at 24 bit and burn the file to a DATA CD so that the Avid does the conversion?
Or, is a 16 bit Audio CD final mix from me the best bet?

I know the Avid suite is an IBM PC...I don't know if Avid is a 16 bit platform or what (I know, I should know that).

What's the best digital relationship for my PTLE PC system and an Avid system?

Thanks for your advice, once again.

It may depend on what Avid system they use but Xpress DV is 48kHz 16bit.
Composer and the like may be 24bit but I've never used one of those.

Murph,

All Avids are currently only 16 bit. I would do a Bounce to Disk at 16 bit, 48k as a BWF file. As most video guys work at 48k, but you may want to check them just in case.

regards,
mike

Wow, thanks for the quick response...

Is this a stupid question?
What's a BWF file?
