Install problem

Hello- I have a G3 with a G4 500 processor upgrade. There's a 10GB system drive and a 56GB 7200 RPM IDE drive also that I want to use for audio. I'm going through the 001 install steps, and after I select "Mac OS 9.2 Base Set" in the extensions control panel (the last step before restarting), the computer won't finish restarting. It stops before any icons are displayed on the desktop. The pointer moves. When I put the LE install CD in the drive it spins up but nothing appears on the desktop. Let's see, 10 minutes into ProTools and I'm already frustrated!! Can anyone out there help solve this? Thanks-

There is probably an extension required for your G4 upgrade.. make sure that's added to the base set. Hold down the shift key to start up with your extensions off.. and move the G4 upgrade extention from the disabled extensions folder to the extensions folder.

Digi of course may not support your Mac which is non standard with that upgrade. You may have to reinstall the original processor to install PT.. then after it's working try the upgrade.
