Any idea the typical cost of repair? Used ones can be had easily for around 450.00 or less.

Re: Need Help Bad
I don't think Avid does those repair/exchanges anymore. Although you may find a 3rd party that does repairs. Or buy used as you mentioned.

Re: Need Help Bad
Can you run Digitest without the core card installed? This would be to check my other two access cards to make sure nothing happened to them.

Re: Need Help Bad
Have you checked for damage to the core card that others have mentioned. R35 surface mount resistor and a nearby small capacitor on the back of the board, easy to break off when inserting the board.

Need Help Bad
Uh we won't be able to see for sure, the components may be sheared off (they appear to be there on your board) or just damaged or cracked, here is what you are looking for ... http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...tall_55322.pdf (really bad board design/component placement).
Have a close look at them with a magnifier, give them a gentle push with a pencil to make sure they are not cracked and have solid solder joints. |

Re: Need Help Bad
Not sure if it helps seeing this, but here is a Video of my running Digitest with all three cards in, with the results with all three cards passing. Again, I was only able to get a failed Digitest once, and that was with just the Core Card installed in the 3rd slot. 1st slot being the video card.

Re: Need Help Bad
I have purchased another used Core card, spent a little more to get a 6 month warranty from RSPE. 425.00
I still want to keep doing everything possible to confirm it really is my Core Card, as well as pursue any other possible fixes/repairs. I have reached out to this guy to see about repairing. FYI, I email him today, and he replied within an hour with some questions of me. Very impressed at this point with him!!! Even if he can't help/fix, I like the way he does business out of the gate. http://www.studio-techservices.com/E...2_Repairs.html If it is in fact my core card and he can fix it, I will have that done. I will keep an extra spare around just in case in the future. I do want to thank all of you thus far for doing what you can to help me. I really do appreciate it!

Re: Need Help Bad
Avid use to flat rate repair the cards (I knocked the R35 off once) it was a few years ago
Mitch does do good work but I'm not crazy about his attitude when he post here. When i hit the R35 he said Avid wouldn't fix it when they did
