Default Control Surface?

Hi everyone
Im looking into getting a control surface for use with tools namely the Behringer BFC2000. I know its got babyhui control on it and i've got a midi interface which will solve the problem of all my USBs being taken up already.
The big question is how well does this thing play with tools? Has anyone had any experience with them? Or is there something better for the same price?
Thanks
Liam M

p.s please please please do reply if you know anything. I need to buy this thing in the next day or two.

Thanks for the link. After checking out the link its the BCF2000 (apart from the rotary behringer) thats within my price range that looks any good.
But i'm still not sure how it'll behave with tools. Ideas?

A friend bought and uses the fader version constantly with PT. Raves about it.

BTW-- Anybody using a Mackie Control with and Extender? Do the Extenders work?

I have the BCF2000 from behringer and installed it all yesterday. It works in Baby HUI mode and so far has worked flawlessly with my set up. (002rack , Mac 0SX, protools 6.2.1)

The main thing you have to do is download a firmware update from the Behringer web site (version 1.7) and this enables the Baby HUI mode for the BCF2000. I pretty much plugged it all in, uploaded the firmware to the BCF2000 and set Protools to HUI mode and all the faders started following my mix!

If you download the firmware update it contains a PDF describing how the BCF works in BabyHUI mode with protools and the functions covered by the various buttons etc. This will give you a sneak peak...

Happy New Year

Jules

I got one to be able to control headphone mix effects sends easily and since I got the update into it, it has worked perfectly. It only talks to PT in baby hui mode and only through physical MIDI ports (ie, not USB). It also seems like it would be useful for many other apps.

I have to say that I don't really like it all that much for mixing, as motorized faders without touch sensitivity doesn't work that well for me. I can't wait until I can afford a Command 8.

For the money, it's great!
