Default Mas OS question RE: PT8 on a G5

I have a dual processor G5 currently running PT 7.4 and I would like to upgrade to the latest PT8 version. My current OS is 10.4.11
Which OS should I upgrade to in order to upgrade to PT8.

Thanks

10.5.8 is a good bet - I'm still running it on a G5 we have in our production studio, no problems.

Not really. The G5 is there in a second room more as an 'archive' machine - it's got a lot of older software that doesn't run on Intel machines, in case we need to use it for some reason. It gets use mainly when we have to open sessions that have Trilogy or Atmosphere, or a few other plug-ins that are PPC only.

your opinions don't come from a place of power and validity of someone who has HD and hands on experience with it daily

experience that could indeed help others with HD questions which this forum is designed for

yet you continue to talk like you are an HD guru or something

Right, so HD users are just full of "power and validity..."

I use HD. Not on a daily basis, but I do use it. I have had several months of training with HD systems as well. I don't own one by choice, but that will change if Avid makes HD systems more worthwhile.

You really should take a step back and actually read what people say. I never claimed to be an HD guru, nor do I have any points that are invalid. Just because I don't own it doesn't mean I don't know anything about it. You don't use PT8, yet you have an awful lot to say about it.

If you hold your tongue as much as you hold fast, perhaps you might find more agreeable responses.
