Do not format HFS+... it will always slow you down.

Also, the "8" key on the keypad can engage the midi countoff if your keypad is set to "transport" mode. Set your keypad to classic mode and you cannot accidentally do this. (And you can recall memory locations with only one "." after the number... nice.)
