Default Importing multiple tracks to 1 audio track for playlists

I'm working on a project where the vocals were recorded at a studio that uses Sonar 8. I had all the takes copied over to my jump drive as 24bit Wav files and then imported to PT. (I run PT LE 8.0cs3 MBox 2 Mini on Windows XP system). What I wanted to do was import all the individual takes into 1 PT audio track so that each take would be added to the playlist for that track. I had no problem important the tracks to PT, but could only do it where each take was a separate track in PT, and then simply slid them up, 1 at a time to one PT audio track, using the "add" feature to keep adding to the playlists. It took a long time though, because I had like 48 takes to dump in (8 takes for each section of the song), which I now get to comp!

My question is: is there a way to import multiple tracks to 1 PT track such that each imported track automatically gets added to the playlist for the designated track? I looked in the manual, but couldn't find such a process listed. Sure would save time!!

Thanks

Well that explains why I couldn't find it in the manual!!!!

Okay...feature request #39: Allow multiple track imports to go to one audio track as playlists!

Meanwhile, next time, import the tracks to the Regions Bin(instead of to new tracks). The create the tracks you need, add the playlists you want and drag the audio from the Regions bin, onto the appropriate playlist(select to view playlist on those tracks that need it). This same technique will come into play if you decide you have a great mix template going for one song, and want to use the same setup for the rest of a project. Just save the first session as a template when you're happy with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Albee, but I don't see how doing it that way saves any further steps. I'd still have to drag each individual region into the playlist, one at a time. How's that any quicker than if they were imported as tracks and dragged into the playlist?

I like the idea of saving the mix template. I frequently import set-ups from one mix into another and I have saved a few set-ups as templates.

Just pointing out another method. If you get into using the mix template, it just makes a little more sense.
