A couple of questions
Just bought a MBox 2 Pro today and I just ran across this piece of info about Firewire drives:
Pro Tools LE Systems (with Pro Tools LE 6.9.2 or higher) with the following exception: FireWire 800 drives are not supported for record and playback with Mbox 2 Pro systems about 5 lines later: Hard drives using the Oxford 912 chipset interface have USB 2.0, FW400 and FW800 ports on them. Only the use of the FW800 or FW400 interface is supported on these drives with Pro Tools. These are the audio drives I'm using so am I to ascertain that I have to use the Firewire 400 ports from my audio drives? Also: I am running the MBox off the power supply, not the bus. Should I leave it on all the time (which is my natural inclination)? thanx in advance

Re: A couple of questions
Thanks. It will be easy enough to find out.
What about the power question? Should I leave the MBox on all the time? peace

Re: A couple of questions
Why would you want to leave it on all the time? What benefit?

Re: A couple of questions
Park - the hardest thing on electronic equipment is usually powering up and shutting down. Pretty well known with computers at least.
I have a good battery UPS system in place so I'm not worried about that. I think I'll leave it on. peace
