Dolby surround Tools with PT 5.1?

Any chance it will be redesigned to take advantage of the improved bussing structure of master faders in the surround environment? Does this make sense? It seems a bit clunky having the encode and decode master ans slave plugs. Could it all be combined into one encode and one decode plug now that surround capable Master faders are avialble?

From what I was able to gather, we definitely have plans to update the Dolby Surround Tools to take advantage of LCRS multi-channel stems in Pro Tools 5.1. But since Pro Tools 5.1 itself is still in development, those additions to the Dolby Plug-In will happen when PT 5.1 is closer to release. That might well mean that the new version of Dolby could come after the release of PT 5.1. Other than that, that's about as much as I can tell you at this point.

question to digidesign:

WIll you ever make a deal with DOLBY to allow us to ACTUALLY MIX a Dolby Surround or Dolby Digital Mix from Software plug-ins?

As it stands today, Dolby will not authorize a Print Master coming from a plug-in or software encoder. ok, fine. I can do pre-mixing and sound design, but I still have to purchase or make arrangements for DOLBY HARDWARE to complete a Film Print master.
