record to internal drive
Hi,
I have a new setup with a Powerbook an FW 410. Although I have an external USB-drive, I will often have to record to my internal drive for portability-reasons. I am wondering if I should make a separate audio-partition on my internal harddrive, and what would be the best way to go about that. Does anyone have experience with this ? Thanks a lot ! Dennis |

Re: record to internal drive
you can record to the system drive without partitioning with limited success.
in my experience, make sure you do not record so much that you get over 80% full. very dangerous after that, puts a real strain on the system, especially if you are making lots of edits. sounds like you are just recording though. you can upgrade to a 7200rpm internal drive and i found that that made a big difference in performance all round.

Re: record to internal drive
Thanks a lot Paul, I´ll see how it goes with my current drive and consider a faster drive if necessary. greetings,Dennis
