Default New Pro Tools Studio Sub VS Perpetual Pro Tools Ultimate

I am reading/being told that Pro Tools Studio has Trim Automation mode and Clip FX. Those are the only 2 things, as well Atmos that I really use in Ultimate I believe.....

Am I missing out, what other things would be an advantage in Ultimate?

There's a whole comparison chart. No need to start a thread for this.
But a real basic one is over 64 (Studio's limit) and up to 256 channels of i/o with Ultimate. Including with core audio/asio hardware.

Of course there is, that chart only gives an overview https://www.avid.com/pro-tools/comparison-extended

However it doesn't go in to finer specific details, I am looking for deeper info. For starters, is Trim Auto mode and the 'full featured' Clip FX a la Ultimate in PT Studio?

Not to mention the chart doesn't include Ultimate for us perpetual users ☮️

That answer is literally in the chart you linked to under mixing.
Clip FX is directly stated
Trim Auto is part of Advanced Automation.
Go look at the chart again.

Haha okay so need to confirm then lol

What I am really looking for, before I commit to a new Studio license, is confirmation from someone who has used it - and a further discussion on the same features and differences between the 2 tiers.

Is PT Studio Clip FX exactly the same full-featured version as Ultimate, it is a simple question that is not answered in the chart.......

The simple question is answered though, very simply. In Artist it's playback-only, exactly the same full-featured version in Studio and Flex. Same purple dot.

I think you're looking for problems where there aren't any. Goodness knows there are enough real problems without inventing more...

No problem creation here, just looking for someone who has used PT Studio to confirm those features are indeed the same as in Ultimate. Considering these are features I and my team rely on it's prudent to check and not some cut down version....

That was only a small query though, I am also interested n the broader thread topic and if anyone is considering going from perp Ult to PT Studio.....

The chart is clear. If there are differences there are superscripts with notes or an asterisk. This has been Avid's way for years.

I just renewed my Ultimate yearly sub for $639 - some sort of promo, but I guess it was normally $799..

So Ultimate went up by $200/year..?

Not detailed enough to make an informed decision whether to sell/trade in PT per Ult for PT Studio
